The Air Jordan 1 High 85 Neutral Grey launched in early 2020 to kick-off the silhouette’s 35th anniversary. A return-to-original-form, the premium iteration will see its third release on Wednesday, February 10th, in a “White/Neutral Grey” colorway unseen since 1985. Smooth leather throughout the upper sets the stage for soft suede swathes that take over profile swooshes and collar construction; “NIKE AIR” branding on the tongue and “Wings” logos on the lateral ankle indulge in the hair material’s titular grey hue. The two-toned Jordan 1 arrives with sizing information on the inner collar, an individually-numbered drawstring bag and a throwback hang tag depicting Michael Jordan soaring above Chicago’s skyline (recreated from scratch by designers).
The Nike Air Force 1 Pixel Desert Sand comes dressed in a Desert Sand, Dark Cinder, and White color scheme. Although clad in the least eye-catching hue in the mix, the base visible at the toe box and midfoot panels feature a textured pattern somewhat remininscent of the Air Jordan 3‘s elephant print. Suede overlays around the forefoot, along the tongue and at the heel all indulge in light tan, but the most latter area is accompanied by a pastel blue branded panel. Profile swooshes reveal a dark brown (almost black) tone via its cut-out makeup. Underfoot, midsoles boast the “pixelated” arrangement that have warranted their respective model its modified name.
This Air Jordan 1 High OG Silver Toe adopts color blocking that recalls the Air Jordan 1 ‘Gold Toe’ from 2018. The “Metallic Silver” leather that gives this colorway its name is present on the toebox, heel and collar flaps. The rest of the upper’s build is somewhat simple, with white gracing the quarter panel and black appearing on the mudguard, eyestays, Swooshes and collar. Apart from the Swooshes, further branded hits are provided by the stamped black ball-and-wings logo on the lateral collar flap and the classic Nike Air tag on the black nylon tongue.
