PTFE Gaskets are ideal for highly corrosive environments that do not include beer or wine. PTFE is a multifunctional material, similar to Graphite Gaskets from Graphite Gaskets Manufacturers. It has a wide range of electrical resistivity to chemicals and temperatures (-100°F-450°F) and has almost no extractable. However, PTFE is a kind of plastic, which will undergo creep and cold flow. Teflon gaskets should almost only be used with high-pressure fixtures, and are not recommended for applications with large temperature changes. Gaskets and seals are not returnable.
What type of material should I use?
Although we are prohibited from recommending gasket types, we do provide a chemical resistance chart that matches the resistance level of the gasket material to the different chemicals/foods you may use. We may recommend using Grade A or Grade B gaskets for your specific application.
