Frank Lloyd Wright was born in New Jersey and is one of the most influential interior designers of the past. He is also the founder of the Arts and Crafts movement. Wright was able combine the aesthetics of the traditional design for interiors with the awe-inspiring and unique use of materials. His work can still be found and seen today in homes all over the country and beyond. This article will focus on his most important and well-known designs.

Frank Lloyd Wright's best known works are the ones which can be seen on buildings throughout the United States as well as in other parts of the world. The Balustrade of his Statue Of Liberty is an amazing instance. The original design of his incorporated the classic geometrical shapes of brick Expressionism, however, a certain variation of expressionist architecture which uses bricks or tiles that have a more classical aesthetic appeal. His images capture both cathedral-like structure and the small, yet warm, interior of the room. It's a result you would be hard-pressed to find in any modern museum.

A lot is less known about the lesser-known works of Frank Lloyd Wright, but one of his most famous structures remains an integral part of the development of the expressionist architectural style and that's the Chrysler Building. The colossal skyscraper was created by Richard Seligman. It is called the Empire State Building after the original Empire State of New York that Wright collaborated on with Seligman. The iconic face of the building is usually recognizable for its cantilevered form that looks like an egg, and from one side, the bottom stretches in the other. The cantilever as is the norm in modernist structures, provides horizontal support for roofs that cantilevering on canopy. However, it is still the most awe-inspiring structure in the world and one of the most famous modernist structures in the world.

Expressionist architecture, it must be said, has had very little influence on the architecture of the modern era, and most early modernist structures were not made by Expressionists. However, it has perhaps the most famous merit: the design which Frank Lloyd Wright used in his magnificent Chicago penthouse. The great architect of the twentieth century, Frank Lloyd Wright, used expressionist architecture when designing his buildings. A particular point of note is the use of round edges on the edges of of his most famous buildings like the Chrysler Building.

Expressionist architecture was characterized by geometrically strong shapes and bold single-color designs. The majority of the shapes used were rectangles, which are thought to be the most 'American' of all geometric shapes. Other shapes included circles, ovals, and squares. The art movement stressed the importance of repetition, and utilized extensively in its architecture. For example, expressionist architecture featured four-sided doors that were symmetrical.

Expressionistarchitecture , however, was faced with a variety of problems when it came to the implementation of its principles. One of them was the length of time for the works to be created which eventually resulted in their demise. Expressionist architectural pieces often had small windows which made them easy to block during the summer months. This meant that many of these beautiful works of art would be unavailable to the general public. The designs were also not appropriate for mass production because of the limiting nature Expressionist architecture.

In the early years of the 20th century this style was revived in the form of'modernist architecture'. Frank Lloyd Wright was a fan of this architectural style. He was a huge fan of French and Viennese architecture styles. Modernist architecture was not a radical variation from Expressionist architecture. The two styles simply coexisted. Modernist architecture was characterized by its sleek geometric lines. It was heavily inspired by the work of Hans Gluckerman and Frank Lloyd Wright.

As can be seen, expressionist architecture and modernism both developed from the same aesthetic sensibility. There are some differences in the methods used by these schools. Modernism sought to recreate pre-historic forms of art and music like they were still in use today. Expressionist visual arts and music were inspired by nature. Both schools of thought, the focus was on the fluid nature of the creative process. Both expressionist and modernist architecture are two distinct methods of design. Both have their advantages.
