For this reason, a warehouse distributor must possess excellent customer service skills and be capable of arranging transportation for incoming or outgoing orders. In addition, a warehouse distributor should have outstanding mathematical and reading skills. Warehouse Management specializes in analyzing and assessing current and seasonal inventory needs and is the individual who makes decisions about stocking levels and availability of specific merchandise. Warehouse Management is the individual who decide what stock to retain, what merchandise to purchase from dealers, and how much stock to order and reserve. Warehouse Management is also the person who determines the prices at which merchandise is sold.
Warehouse Distributors is an integral part of the chain of manufacturers and wholesalers that provide products to retailers and consumers. Warehouse Owners is responsible for loading and unloading trucks to deliver merchandise to their destinations and for collecting payments and delivering goods to customers. Warehouse Owners must make sure that the loading and unloading trucks are not overloaded or under loaded. Warehouse owners also ensure that adequate fuel is available and that the trucks are properly maintained. Many times the warehouse is a separate building owned and operated by the distributor.
