In the world of venomous snakes there aren't many who haven't seen the movie version of Peter Venkman. He plays an nerdy junior college student who suddenly gains spider-like abilities. At first, he is in wheelchair because of an unintentional lobotomy procedure after which he gains flight and telepathy, enabling him to battle villains like The Joker (Tom Cruise), Electro (Erick Bloodstone), The Spider (Sidney Poitier) and many others. While venom is a famous villain of the Marvel Universe it's not clear what his other toys are. Is there a bestvenom antagonist who can match up to the humorous Peter or is it simply a sarcastic Peter?
Two different DC Comics Universe creatures inspired Peter Venkman. They've been renamed as The Symbiotes, The Phantom and Green Lantern. The Symbiotes, which are parasites from another world with green skin are able to attach themselves to the victims of their. They transform the host into a violent and dangerous creature known as Symbiotes. Thus begins the twisted relationship between Peter Venkman (Jared Rushton) and the Symbiotes.
While the storyline for this movie is fantastic, the story line for the Symbiotes is not. Their history is little known, and their origins are not even well-known. As a result, they have a distinct appeal that is difficult to match. The Symbiotes design - black and silver - makes them appear tough. While the blue and red colors of their costumes make them appear like the brutal and vicious venom in the film. Peter Venkman's superhuman strength is made possible by the poison symbiote.
The alien symbiote, known as Scorpion is one of the most powerful villains in Marvel Universe. The bad guy made his comic book debut in Amazing Spider-Man #75, where there was a massive body that was symbiotic, able to attack Peter Parker. He has been a foe to the crooks of Wall Street since then. In the movie, after Peter Parker goes to college, he goes back to his home, and falls off a tree, which attracts an alien symbiotic known as the Scorpion and binds himself to Peter Parker and begins releasing an endocrine venom that causes all of the Spiders of New York City to attack Spider-Man.
In the film, after the briefcase that contained a sample of the venom is stolen by the Vulture and a group of New York City cops try and track him down.
After a chase that involved a train, a plane and a tank police are tracking down the symbiote towards a warehouse where it is being kept. The Vulture attacked Spider-Man and gave his body with venom. This causes him to become angry and weak. The Vulture also injects a novel chemical into Spider-Man's head called "green venom", which causes an enzymatic reaction in his system that creates an antidote for his weakness. The police department save Peter and he recover enough to go home.
In the TV series, as well as the movie due out in the near future, the Vulture is a threat to Peter Parker and he is forced to take a serum in order to prevent the deadly venom from harming him. The man eventually takes the serum, and then when he goes to the police department to get the evidence, The Vulture attacks again and this time, he targets investigative journalist Ben Affleck, forcing Peter Parker to take him to a hospital in order for him to receive medical treatment. With the assistance of the brand new Spider-Man, The Vulture is defeated and is taken away to prison. However, he soon escapes and begins his next scheme of manufacturing venom.
In the third film, The Amazing Spider-Man, as part of an attempt to rid Peter Parker of his blindness, Dr. Curt Connor creates a Venom symbiote which can be in the Spider-Man. The symbiote gives Peter Parker increased strength and web-swinging ability. In the film, The Vulture begins his crime spree yet again, using his venomous webbing to attract The the New York City Police Department's foreign liaison Maddy Prior, into a warehouse, where he plans to siphon the venom symbiote from an affluent woman he wants to marry. Peter Parker is the latest mask-wearing crusader who is determined to stop the evil that plagues New York City after The Vulture kills Prior.
The Vulture has appeared in a number of comic book stories and one of my favorite is the Spider-Man and Wolverine co-stars. The Vulture is like The Wolverine in that they are both dangerous and tough villains. The comics depict the Vulture as an alcohol addict who slips into deep sleep when drinking too much. His mask also looks like The Wolverine's, so it would seem that the two characters are very alike. Both are tough villains and formidable adversaries for Peter Parker and the rest of the Spider-Man brood. With the release of the upcoming Spider-Man 4 movie, I believe that The Vulture could get more attention from Marvel.
