EOC is something I strongly support. The RS gold best thing about games and all technology is that they are constantly improving. Think back to when runescape was first released 13 years ago - think about how gaming technology and gaming as a whole have advanced in the last 13 years.
Imagine how many players from Runescape have been have left to play other MMORPGs with a similar action bar system. Of course I am talking about World of Warcraft. While I'm not saying that Runescape should be more similar to WOW, in any way however, the majority of moos currently adhere to the EOC-style of HCI. What is the reason this is the case for 95 percent of the moos?
Because it has been proved to be effective. Without updates like this the game would be dead, not only from a gaming perspective however from a business point of view. Jagex at the end of the day is a business that must pay its workers and pay taxes, and, most importantly, make a profit. They would be out of the game if they did not keep runescape at the same level as their competitors.
Progression and adaption is key to everything in life, but with technology, it's much more crucial. It is simple to conclude that humans are the dominant race because they have changed their environment. However, that's a an entirely different scenario.
I don't know how old you are but take a look back at the past 20 years that we, as tech-savvy users, have had to adapt - through the use of VCR to CD to DVD, through the use of different interfacing devices (touchscreen is one of the most popular). Gaming is a part of technology where adaptation is required. I'm sure you would rather see Runescape keep up to date with its competition and survive many more years - however, with a mindset that says "no major updates because we do not like them" runescape is set to gradually die out.
EoC isn't the main issue. To me, it's just more clicking for the same result, and the highlight is the ability to queue emotes. WoW, I'm using 80 keys. There is also a minigame to improve DPS or learn new tactics in PvP. Even though I love mind control, I still enjoy the idea of controlling my enemies on the cliffs' edges.
This is the question. The exact circumstances that led to its birth are the same as that of Solomon and SoF. Players are forced to play. Recently an Jmod wrote about a poster posting bugs in BA. It was great constructive feedback. Posters then noted that the bugs were discovered and reported to Jagex in the beta phase but they were not added to cheap RuneScape gold the final version.
