Extended Producer Responsibility Policy:

  • Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) policy is a policy by a state government that requires the producer to collect and recycle its electronic products. These include televisions, refrigerators, computers, and mobiles phones.
  • The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Government of India has notified new EPR  Authorizations, as per Rule 13(1) (Management) Rules 2016 for issuing, renewing or refusal of Extended Producers Responsibility Authorizations to the Producers manufacturing or storing manufactured product responsible for causing pollution or environmental damage.
  • The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) or State Pollution Control Board may verify and investigate the given information within 25 days of receipt of application.
