A Warehouse Distributor is an individual who sells or leases new and used products to retailers, home improvement centers, manufacturers, wholesalers, drop shippers and distributors. Warehouse Distributors is also called upon for specialized advice regarding product pricing, sales promotions, product sourcing, inventory control and warehousing. The Warehouse Manager is the highest ranked employee in a distribution company, and as such has overall responsibility for all company activities. Warehouse Distributors is responsible for inventory control, receiving orders, delivering goods, picking up products, packaging and tagging products, and tracking all outgoing shipments. Warehouse Distributors may also be required to organize and maintain stock.
In addition to the duties of a Warehouse Distributor, Warehouse Managers are responsible for the flow of goods through the warehouse from the receiving dock to the warehouse floor. Warehouse Manager has access to the company's entire inventory and can make product decisions based on the volume and type of incoming materials. Warehouse Management specializes in analyzing and assessing current and seasonal inventory needs and is the individual who makes decisions about stocking levels and availability of specific merchandise. Warehouse Management is the individual who decide what stock to retain, what merchandise to purchase from dealers, and how much stock to order and reserve. Warehouse Management is also the person who determines the prices at which merchandise is sold.
